Tennessee’s first legal Moonshine Distillery

Whether you are visiting Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or Nashville, you can still get your shine on!  Ole Smoky Moonshine was the first to legally distil and sell moonshine in the state of Tennessee.  Now we all know the good stuff has been around for a lot longer, but this family recipe is now available to everyone to enjoy.  When you visit any of their locations your group will get a complimentary tour of how they make their product as well as a tasting where you can sample their best stuff including White Lightning, Apple Pie, Blackberry, and more.  They also feature great seasonal flavors like Shine Nog and Candy Cane.  The original “Holler” is located on the Parkway in Gatlinburg and pairs very well with a guided tour of the Great Smoky Mountains.  “The Barn” is located on The Island development in Pigeon Forge and is a great way to pass an afternoon.  In Nashville, “6th & Peabody” is located near the Music City Center and features Yee Haw Brewing Company as well with a great beer garden and some great food options on property.

Steeped in Nashville history, senior adult groups love Belle Meade Plantation

Belle Meade

Belle Meade

Are you looking for something exceptional to add to your group’s trip to Nashville?  Look no further than Belle Meade Plantation.  French for beautiful meadow, Belle Meade Plantation was established in 1807 and has been called the “Queen of Southern Plantations.” Never a farming operation, Belle Meade provided services like a cotton gin, grist mill, blacksmith shop and sawmill until it became an internationally renowned Thoroughbred farm and showplace.

Throughout the 45-minute guided tour, a century of Belle Meade’s history is told through the eyes of the Harding and Jackson family and the skilled laborers who collectively worked to make this America’s premier thoroughbred horse farm. After the guided tour, groups can enjoy a complimentary wine tasting (age 21+) in the on-site Winery. At the conclusion of the wine tasting, groups are encouraged to enjoy a self-guided tour of the Grounds and explore the massive 1892 Carriage House and Stables, Outbuildings, Outdoor Game Court, various Gift Shops, and Ice Cream and Homemade Fudge Shop.

In the mood for some spirits?

There are also some wonderful options you can add to your tour to make the experience even better.  You can add a delicious Southern lunch in Belle Meade’s 1800s Carriage House, a private Bourbon tasting, or a wine chocolate and cheese pairing just to name a few.

Come and step back in time at Belle Meade Plantation.

It will be an experience that lasts long beyond the trip home.
